• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general app activity (no advertising identifiers).
• Device information: device type and operating system version for compatibility purposes.

• Provide and improve the Service, including showing you local price comparisons based on your ZIP code.
• Process receipt images using AI to extract and store price data for the community database.
• Allow you to build and manage shopping lists and trip plans.
• Maintain your account and preferences.

3. How We Share Your Information

Price data you submit (product name, price, store, date) is shared with other CompareCost users as part of the community price database. Your name, email, and account details are never shared publicly.

We use the following service providers who may process your data on our behalf:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): cloud hosting and storage.
• Anthropic: AI processing of receipt images (images are processed and not stored by Anthropic).

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us, which will remove your personal profile data. Community-contributed price data may be retained in anonymized form to maintain the integrity of the price database.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately.
